America's Boating Course the first, basic safe boating course where all boaters, new and experienced, should start. It gives you the basics you need to get out on the water safely, and it meets all South Carolina and North Carolina state boating education requirements.
Why our safe boating course over the many online courses?
We realize there are many free online boating courses available that qualify you for the required State-issued boat operator’s license. So why should you take our course at cost? There are several reasons of which the following are a few: - The online courses cover the bare minimum topics to get you through the exam. But do you really want to just know the bare minimum, when your vessel and the lives of your crew and guests are at stake? There is so much more that you need to know to be a safe and responsible skipper on the water. Are you the type of person that is happy in knowing “just enough” to get by, or do you want to be truly knowledgeable in all aspects of boating? - Our courses are taught by knowledgeable, experienced, NASBLA-certified (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators) live instructors in a classroom setting. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and delve deeper into the topics covered for a better understanding of the topics covered. - You will receive a 287 page student manual, yours to keep, to reference whenever needed well into the future. Keep this manual on your vessel for ready reference whenever the need arises. This manual covers topics that even we cannot cover in the time allotted. - Interaction with other students. Shared boating experiences. Shared stories. Future lifelong boating friends. - Supplemental boating materials handed out in class – Federal Laws, SC Boating Laws, VHF radio procedures, Rules of the Road reference manual and the USPS University catalog.
Convinced? Are you ready to really learn about safe boating, or do you just want to know the minimum to “get by”? Come join us by signing up for the next presentation of America’s Boating Course. The next class is posted in the left column of our Club Info page under Squadron Events. See you in class!
